Classroom Expectations
Each child has 2 cubes on their desk. Everyone begins their day on Outstanding Behavior. Cubes are taken if they are not acting appropriately (EX. Shouting out, off task, not making good use of time, etc.) Along with the above, if a student is distracting themselves, neighbors, and/or the teacher, a cube is taken and they understand this is a warning for them to make a better choice. If they loose all of their cubes, they will move their clip to Warning. Then they get their 2 cubes back (with the hope that they don’t lose anymore). If they lose all of their cubes again, then they move their clip to Lose Reward. This process will continue if needed until a clip is moved to Call Home/Behavior Notice. Students will be required to fill out a behavior notice and will check off the reason(s) why their clip was moved. Students will also have to explain how they will improve their behavior on this notice. This needs to be signed by you and your child and returned the following day. If it is not returned the following day it will result in a missed reward that Friday. Students will also keep track of their behavior on a monthly calendar in their homework planners.
Students may also earn rocks in the " MISS KLING 'S CLASS ROCKS!" jar based on compliments from other teachers throughout the school. They will also earn them through team work and core ethical values being practiced within the classroom. Once all rocks are earned, students suggest and vote on a class reward!
